About this event
On a journey, the first step is often the hardest, and sometimes just knowing where to start can be challenge. During this class, Scott Grove takes you through some creative thinking exercises and shows you an easy-to-follow, step-by-step process to develop an idea into finished work using quick sketches, maquette modeling, and scaled working prototypes, with lots of tips, tricks, and exercises to try at home. He’ll also show you how to explore, discover, develop, and refine a passion that you can incorporate into any piece, which gives your work a personal soul, a unique story, and makes its creation and display more meaningful. Be prepared to push your boundaries in this fun and creative class!
Students should bring a sketchpad ( 8-1/2 x 11 or larger); various pencils / hardnesses; fine to medium point markers; a straight edge; a 30.60.90 drafting triangle; a retracting breakaway-style utility knife; masking tape; hot glue gun; wire cutters; safety glasses; and a dust mask. Estmated material cost is $20.
