About this event
Graduate students from the RIT School for American Crafts will present their graduate projects.
The workshop will be held at RIT on Saturday. Will Davis is planning to discuss CAD and CAM processes with a computer presentation to set up the CNC. After this they will run our CNC router to cut out an MDF jig for bent lamination.
Next, James DeSiena will use the CNC form they make and go through all the steps to do bent laminations.
The third part will of the day will be led by Hannah Giancola who will break out hand tools for shaping. They plan to have simple bent lamination pieces for each participant to make a wooden utensil that can be hand shaped and finished. and demonstrate the design and construction techniques used in those projects.
